JA King Metro

About JA in Seattle and the King Metro Region

Junior Achievement in Seattle, the Eastside, and the King County metro area of Washington State (JA King) launched its very first programs in 1953. Currently, JA King serves over 30,000 students, offering traditional in-school programs and JA Days in grades K-12, and JA Job Shadows. In 2005, JA World in Auburn opened its doors, providing JA's highest impact programs, JA Finance Park and JA BizTown, to students throughout Western Washington.

Volunteering for JA King

Each year, JA King relies upon thousands of volunteers to bring its programs to local area school students. The dynamic interaction between the volunteer and the students provides active learning and brings theory to life.

Are you qualified to volunteer in a classroom or at JA World? Yes! JA volunteers come from all walks of life, including valued employees, retirees, parents and college students. All you need is a desire to be an inspirational role model, along with the ability to communicate, motivate, and create enthusiasm. Volunteers are also required to sign a Volunteer Conduct Standards form. Training in person and/or online is provided.
