JA Southeastern Washington

About JA in Southeastern Washington

Junior Achievement in the Southeastern region of Washington State (JA SEWA) launched its very first programs in 1987. Currently, nearly 11,000 students are served annually by JA SEWA, offering traditional in-school programs in grades K-12, and JA Job Shadows. In addition, 900 students in JA SEWA had the opportunity last year to travel to Yakima to experience JA World.

Volunteering for JA SEWA

Each year, JA SEWA relies upon over 450 volunteers to bring its programs to local area school students. The dynamic interaction between the volunteer and the students provides active learning and brings theory to life.

Are you qualified to volunteer in a classroom? Yes! JA volunteers come from all walks of life, including valued employees, retirees, parents and college students. All you need is a desire to be an inspirational role model, along with the ability to communicate, motivate, and create enthusiasm. Volunteers are also required to sign a Volunteer Conduct Standards form. Training in person and/or online is provided.
