New Programs

JA of Washington has pivoted swiftly to transform the majority of our programs to free, digital resources. Here’s a list of new and ongoing programs:

Lunch With Leaders
Virtual Career Speakers/Job Shadows
K-8 Digital Resources
JA BizTown Adventures
JA Finance Park Virtual

Back in February of 2020, we at JA of Washington were looking forward to the spring and working with our educators and volunteers to plan out exciting programs and opportunities for the remainder of the school year. Our popular JA Bowling Classic events were taking off around the state and we were anticipating a fun summer of new programs including JA BizTown Summer Camp.

But, that was not to be. In March, COVID hit and everything was derailed. As Governor Inslee started to order his stay-at-home directives, we watched and waited to see how schools would be impacted. We knew we had to do whatever it took to continue supporting teachers, parents, and especially students. As one by one, schools started to close and go virtual, we at JA responded immediately. Within weeks, we transitioned the majority of our programming to free, virtual lessons on various platforms, bringing resources and lessons to affected communities.

With your continued support, we can help create a new generation fit for the challenges of the future, no matter what they might be. We at JA will continue to adapt and invest, but we need your help to do it. We will continue to enlist your help to create a stronger future for the students of Washington. Let’s achieve together.
