This JA of Washington scholarship opportunity, established through the generosity of an anonymous donor, provides two graduating African American male seniors attending a Tacoma Public School (including charter schools) with $1,000 each. These scholarships are to go towards winners’ community college, technical college, or trade school education the following school year.

The donor named this scholarship in honor of two important and influential men, President Abraham Lincoln and Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. who both made significant strides forward for both civil rights and equality in education in America. This scholarship is a way to empower students in Tacoma Public Schools to own their education, their careers, and their futures.

To apply, students who meet the above criteria must email their responses as a PDF to Director of South Puget Sound Megan Sharp by Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 5pm.
